I am unable to edit events in the front end.
No edit button is being displayed.
I am defined to Joomla as a Super User, an Administrator, as well as several other user groups.
When I click on an event in the calendar, in the resulting display I see three buttons: download, print and e-mail. (screen image attached)
Joomla is at 3.8.2, Jevents is at 3.4.43, PHP is at 5.6.24
I am using Chrome as my browser. Same result in Edge.
Do you have a published custom layout in : JEvents > Custom Layouts -> Event Detail Page ?

If so, did you include the edit tag?

Many thanks

Tony,

Thanks for the quick reply.

We did have a custom layout that was published. I un-published it, but the problem still existed. (I have attached the custom layout.)

I then looked at another site I manage that uses Jevents. The edit button appears fine on that site. So I compared the configuration on both sites, and the site that works had the navigation bar set to "yes". So I changed this on the problem site, and now the edit button (the pencil) appears.

So, it seems that the edit button only appears if the navigation bar is also being displayed.

That's OK with me and solves my problem.

Hello Dave,

Ahh ok I suspect the issue is the edit button is actually there, but it is hidden by your sites template. Loading in the navigation bar forces it to be below it instead.

Many thanks
