Hello there,

we are using the free jEvents component at the moment and it is a really nice component. After we spent some time on it we are wondering if we do anything wrong or if we shall purchase one of the club versions and therefore we would like you to help us making the decision.

We have created a JEvents menu entry and we are showing the monthly calendar. Visitors of the site can then click on an event we have created and get redirected to the details of that event. We would now like to adjust the details page of the events and found in the backend the option layout adjustments and the option "event detail page", here it is possible to create an additional page to the default one. However we do not see any changes on the frontend when we adjust it and it is not possible to create different layouts for each language of our site. Is that a restriction because we are using the free version, is it not possible or are we doing something wrong.

We are more then happy to purchase a club membership as we really do like the component, but we would like to make sure beforehand that what we need is available with a club membership.

Regards
Hi TenerifeIT,
the Custom Layout defaults that allows you to create a different layout for JEvents views is available in the JEvents core component for free. Have you checked the layout is published after editing it? Can you please check your modifications have been correctly stored in the editor?

I think this video will make you easier to see how this custom layout works:

Regarding different layouts for each language. Right now it's not possible unless you create a template overrides for the views you want to edit and detect the language and shows your specific layout. In any case at this moment that cannot be done using the layout editor, although is a planned feature to have different layouts for different categories (which will suit your needs as language selection in JEvents is at category level).
