Member deletes invitation for an event - admin must remove prior to re-registeration

If person A signs up for an event, then deletes the event all is well. But, if person A decides they would now like to attend the event - they cannot register. An administrator must go in and remove the line item of the deleted event. Then person A can go back in and register. This is causing my admin headache! Is there a way to fix this?

Question - if they are not using RVSP Pro, would Pro solve this issue?
