Is there a way to limit the number of times an event can repeat, OR a way to easily delete a full chain of repeating events?

I ask because in our current calendar, a user mistakenly set an event to repeat well into the year 3000, creating some 37,000 instances of the event. We've been told our only option for deleting these events (which are killing the database performance) is to select 100 at a time and hit the delete key.

Hello,

Wow we wouldn't usually allow such a repeat to happen and believe we limit to about 9999.

You can view the repeats and add:

&limit=1000

Into your browser, this may work depending on how powerful your server is.

Your other option is, to edit the master event and set a limit to the amount you want and click save. This will delete all existing repeats and reset them. Even disabling it being a repeating event will delete all the repeats.

Many thanks
Tony
