One of my users reported that they are getting a message that they have reached their maximum number of locations as they were creating an event.
When I checked the locations manager, I noted that we had just reached 1000 as an ID.
Is there a limit to the number of locations and can I extend this?
Quite high priority to resolve this quickly. We are a centennial organization and rapidly reaching our key date so activity with events is expanding rapidly right now.

Thanks
Theo
Hello Theo,

No there shouldn't be a system limit. but maybe you set an extras one in:

JEvents -> Authorised Users -> This user?

Many thanks
Tony

Tony:
I have attached his authorized user profile. I have him permission for everything but delete all.
Also attached are the warning windows. Maybe they will help. The caution came up... and on the next one the lock out.
I have not heard from other users of a similar problem but simply noted that we had reached 1000 locations at the very same moment.

If it helps, while I cannot create a new location I can open an existing location and do a save as copy and then edit that.

I've fixed this on that site now. You can install the attached package too.

I've made a pull request for carcam to merge for the next release.

Many thanks

Hi Mark, sorry for the confussion, but this is designed to be this way. In previous releases the max own locations setting was not working. This was a bug.

If your own locations limit is 1000, then the user will not be able to create 1001 own locations. You need to increase the number of own locations or just leave the setting empty so that there is no limit.

Best!!

Tony,

We updated our site, but we still have individual users having the same error. We created an admin login for you on our testing server-

Testing server was updated to yesterday's backup and has all current updates.

Hi,

Please find 2 users credentials on the site details tab for debugging:

The first user has the error when he creates a new event.

The second one does not see any error when we set up a high max number on the setting page.

Hi Theo,
the problem was that you had the "Max Number of Own Locations" setting in the Managed Locations addon set to 5, and the user had already created more than 5 locations .

This limit was not working till this release in which we noticed the bug and we fixed it. If you do not want any limit, you need to leave the field empty (as I have already done for you )
