Just updated JEvents to 3.4 as well as a joomla update to 3.8.1. Jevents back end is now not working properly. Unable to create or edit events as administrator with an HTTP error 500. Any advice would be very welcome
Problem resolved. error due to use of wrong version of php - version 7. Downgraded to 5.6 and all is well.

Hello,

That's strange as JEvents is PHP7 ready. I would look into that in more detail if I was you.

Many thanks

My hosting company said that Jevents problem was because we were using PHP7. Perhaps there's another reason why I would get a 500 error? Im not an expert at this so any suggestions welcome. I now have another problem with Latest Events and that is that the pop-up calendar doesn't work in the front end editing although works in the back end

a 500 error is usually a php error thrown by your server but hidden because error displays are not being shown.

JEvents as stated is fully php7 ready. So it must be a third party plugin or your php7 installation is missing standard modules off it.

Many thanks
