Many users are using JEvents with Joomla 5.0 already but there are a few issues coming up that are caused by bugs in Joomla 5 which are waiting to be fixed.
I would suggest waiting a few weeks for issues in Joomla 5 to be resolved and before you upgrade. Note that there have also been a few issues in Joomla 4.4.0 too so maybe wait for 4.4.1 before that upgrade
