I have the latest levels of Jevents, RSVP Pro and associated plugins installed, with notifications working fine on event creation, apart from one thing that I would like to be able to do, which is have events for a particular category published, but notifications for them not to be sent. Basically, these are place holder events, where we don't need/want responses, but want them in the calendar to block out time for specific activities.

The Notifications Module doesn't help me with this, as it would require each individual to say they don't want to receive notifications for the category in question and there is a danger they'd de-select others that we do want them to receive notifications for.

I was therefore wondering if there's anything that can be done, either in the category itself, or in the notification plugin, to specify which categories notifications are to be sent for and which not.

Sorry for the delay in responding - I've been away for a couple of days and am not catching up gradually.

In the JEvents config (event editing tab) you can configure it to only send notifications to category admin users and the by choosing (or not choosing) your category admin users appropriately you should be able to not have any new event notifications sent out for events in specific categories.
