Hello, we're experiencing the following, which has some usability issues:

  1. User visits an event details page (e.g., https://www.evergreenmtb.org/calendar/eventdetail/24170/windy-ridge-finishing-work-teanaway-community-forest)
  2. User clicks on the edit icon, then on Edit event in the model pop-up ... event edit form opens up
User clicks on Cancel ... event details page displays, but the URL is https://www.evergreenmtb.org/calendar vs. the one listed in step 1

This poses the following usability issues:

  • Some modules, which are only supposed to display on the main calendar page, and NOT on the event details pages, display.
  • If the user decides to share their event's URL, they're not presented with the current one.

Thoughts? Thank you!

Sorry for the very slow response on this one - I don't know how it got missed :(

Cancelling should only close the modal not change the page URL.

What happens if the user clicks save rather than cancel?

This type of behaviour is usually down to viewing permissions on menu items because of category selection etc.

Am I correct that you use popup event editing?

Can you give me login details for a user with appropriate permissions that recreates the problem? I won't change and save any events - just click cancel to see the behaviour and look for errors

If it's ok I would also create a test event (a long way in the future) to try saving etc.
