Since updating PHP. to 7.1.26, all editing function has been lost. How do I restore?
Hello,

Sorry but can you explain in detail your issue? Lost edit functions in what way?

What version of Joomla! and JEvents are you on?

Many thanks

Tony,

I’m on Joomla version 3.9.2, JEvents version 3.4.48.

Issue:
From components, I go to manage events, expand the event summary list to include all. Then select any one of the events to edit, and it just opens a new “blank” page. It also, will only open a blank page when selecting “new” event. In either case, none of the details appear for editing.

Thanks,
Rog

Hello Rog,

This doesn't sound like a native JEvents issue. We don't open on a new page in the backend event... Can you provide super user logins in the 'Site Details' tab and I'll take a quick look for you.

Many thanks
Tony

Tony,
Be glad to provide super user login. Is this a secure site to provide?

Thanks,
Roger

Tony,
Intended to say, be glad to provide super user login. Is this a secure page (not viewed by public) to provide the needed info?

Thanks,
Roger

I reached out to Cloud Access who hosts my website and they suggested I try reverting back to PHP version 5.6.4 from version 7.1.26. After doing so, functionality has returned for JEvents.

Issue is temporarily resolved using the older version of PHP, however, I would like to be able to resort back to the latest version of PHP when possible. What current version do you support?

Thanks,
Rog

Hello Rog,

Firstly what I would do is make sure you have all modules enabled in php 7.1 that were in 5.6. Furthermore you can try PHP 7.0 before jumping to 7.1 which included more changes.

Many thanks
