Hi! I have just upgraded to Joomla 3.7.4 with JEvents 3.4.39 - this is when issue started.

On front end editing you see a pencil (edit icon). This icon used to enable editing of the event. Now when clicking the edit pencil icon, the options pop up for a second and then disappears. I have changed template back to default and it works well as before upgrade. I have contacted the template developer and they aren't willing to help here. Please see if there is something you can do to help.

Thank you!
Hello,

This is because the template is applying a to global setting on the modal, in most cases forcing display none on the hide which Bootstrap leave behind. If you want to join the bronze club we can personally take a look at your site and apply a CSS fix to override their setting on JEvents Modals.

Many thanks
Tony

Thank you Tony. I appreciate your response. Thanks for looking into this for me. The issue can be replicated by: login in to front end, going to the diary events page in the top menu, opening a diary event and then clicking onto the pencil icon in any event.

Hello,

Unfortunately your template is doing some rather global JavaScript which isn't great. But I've been able to make it work, whilst not ideal. IT allows it to function again.

Make sure to clear your browser's cache.

Many thanks

Thanks so much Tony. Could you please let me know where the file is that is using this global Javascript, and what you recommend I would do to fix it generally. Where did you make the changes to fix it? I absolutely need to look out for this in future templates BEFORE I purchase them (from Template monster). I have never heard of such a thing, so i am grateful for you bringing this to my attention.

Thanks again.

Hello,

I haven't actually debugged it long enough to find the cause within the JavaScript. But it's the case when they are looking for a popup they are removing some CSS classes from what I could see.

I've added the workaround code to the JEvents Custom CSS.

Many thanks
Tony
