Formating help with List of events

Hi all, I'm having some issues getting the time formatting to work on my list of events page, the link to my page is here

I am trying to get the date to display with just the short month and day eg. "Feb 25" however I am a beginner with php and am having trouble understanding the guide on time formatting and how it applies to that specific module. If anyone would be able to provide some guidance on how I may accomplish that without having to resort to modifying the output sting I would greatly appreciate it.
