Export data from Excel into JEvents

Hi,

I try to import data into Jevents which I have made in an Excel sheet. I export all data to a CVS-file according to the information and scheme on your website:
"CATEGORIES","SUMMARY","LOCATION","DESCRIPTION","CONTACT","X-EXTRAINFO","DTSTART","DTEND","TIMEZONE","RRULE"

Somehow nothing happens. I tried all kind of possibilities and even copied the export data in Notepad and save this as a CSV-file. I attached my Excel files and I hope somebody can advise.

You are missing the header rule:

"CATEGORIES","SUMMARY","LOCATION","DESCRIPTION","CONTACT","X-EXTRAINFO","DTSTART","DTEND","TIMEZONE","RRULE"


But add that and it should work.

Hello,

That's an excel spreadsheet? Can you please post the .csv file you are trying to import to JEvents. What error do you get with JEvents?

Hi Tony,

The only thing I see is that no events are imported. I tried different methodes even overide all categories with a standard category. The Excel file merged all necessary fields into a sheet for the CSV-export with the format and quotes as descibed on your side. (Maybe here is a mistake?)
Anyway, you can find the CSV file attached.

Which as you can see is very very wrong. I'd suggest using Open Office since this gives you easier control on export for the enclosures and delimiters.

Hi Tony,

Understood that my Excel-csv might be wrong but maybe not so very wrong as you describe, I hope . If I copy the cells from Excel into Notepad and save them as CSV-file, all items are with quotes. The only difference is that I do not use "FREQ=DAILY;COUNT=10;INTERVAL=3" this is only for repeating events if I understood correctly.

Could you please check the attached file once more to see if it is really my data?
