Event Edit produces a black popup screen

Whenever I access an event the "pencil icon" is gray, "print" and "email" icons are purple. When I click on the edit icon, a black popup screen appears making editing impossible!! HELP:(
Just checking you managed to resolve this

No it's not. Still have the first problem with the blacked out edit screen.
