The date range is a list of events between a given date range set in the menu item. So you can have it, absolute, relative or strtotime . i.e. from today show events for the next 46 days.

You don't? That is a menu item created by the site creator showing a date range of events.

Are you saying you are wanting to filter events and so on? If so this is possible with the JEvents Filter Module and then use the JEvents Time Limit plugin and select these filters to be used within the module. Then in any JEvents menu item, you can filter by the selected criteria.
