Command to Echo Current Month-Calendar's Month?

I'd like to add the month as a class of the calendar so that I can style it as the month changes. How would I echo the currently viewed month?
Found it. 

echo strtolower(JEV_CommonFunctions::jev_strftime("%B", $month_date));
