just moved website from http://www.wellscityharriers.org.uk to http://www.wellscityharriers.co.uk on a different ISP.

Monthly calendar now only shows one category, with All Categories needing to be selected - not a natural thing for most people. When a day is selected there is no event shown, and no option either. All categories are selected, published and public.

Help! Version summary below.

Hello,

The menu item must have a category selected for it to be filtering by the 1 category by default.

Either that, or you have a category filter enabled.

also are you using SH404?

Finally you are at a very high security risk. Please upgrade to Joomla! 2.5.28 at the bear minimum but should consider going to 3.8.2.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,
firstly, agree that Joomla installation is creaking. The guy who took over from me as webmaster was supposed to do that, but turned out to be a chocolate teapot. So i'm doing emergency catering until we get someone else to take over. Will try to update to 2.5.28, but it blew up last time we tried.

No filters installed, as far as i can see. Have tried disabling each JEvents module and plugin in turn , but no effect. Only other possibility seems to be in module manager which has all categories selected in Basic options. I can't delete them to get back to "leave blank for all".

SH404 not installed.

Hello,

To remove all selections press CRTL and click the selected option which will unselect it.

How are you accessing the calendar on your site?

Many thanks

Fixed! thanks for your help.

It's not very intuitive, as the items stay there, just not grayed out.

Most events are updated from the front end - is that what you were asking?

Hello Bob,

Sorry that's just standard multiselect inputs, not much we can do about that without adding buttons or jQuery / Bootstrap control on it.

I mean the URL i.e. what URL are you using to access the calendar with events missing?

Many thanks

Hi Tony,

all events are now showing, so that problem solved.

new problem is that when i try to add a new event, i just get a blank pane in the tab with nothing else. I can only access from back end.

now using Joomla 2.5.28 and JEvents 3.2.21

Hello,

that's really old and we can't really support that level. But enable Joomla! Debug mode and maximum error reporting and try again. What error message do you see now?

Many thanks

Strict Standards: Declaration of JevDate::toSql() should be compatible with JDate::toSql($local = false, JDatabase $dbo = NULL) in /home/wellscit/public_html/components/com_jevents/libraries/jevdate.php on line 16

have sent this to my techy geek mate

Hello,

No need to send that to your tech geek mate. its just a strict standard notice for developers. Lower your error reporting to simple in the Joomla! Global Config.

Many thanks

Hi. that error message isn't the problem as such. I was prompted to up the error reporting to show what's going on in the background. Still have the problem of blank screen. if i try to edit an existing event, nothing happens.

Check what php version your site is on, it can't be higher than 5.6 and probably advise 5.5

Other than that, your a bit stuck really given how old your system is
