Hello,

1) Is the only option to set up paid event submissions through virtuemart? Can you suggest other ways to incorporate this possibly? This is one of the main features I'm looking for, but to download a whole ecommerce component that I wouldnt need for anything would be cumbersome in that situation unless I'm misunderstanding the use. Or is this an addon you offer also. Also, I noticed that Virtuemart shopping cart extension is not yet 3.0x compatible.

2) Can a user purchase standalone updates without a member package? The membership packages can be costly for a calendar component if a user wants to ensure updates are kept up to date but their don't need to use support.

Thanks
Hello kabod77,

At the moment it is only Virtuemart. Demand has been quite low for the Paid Event Submission plugin which is why it is still Joomla 2.5 compatible only and not updated.

We have toyed with the idea of integrating the RSVP Pro payment methods as Virtuemart does 'lag' some what with updates.

At present, we only support subscriptions i'm afraid. Although you do get a 20% discount on renewal.

Geraint will be online tomorrow who will be able to provide a better understanding.

Regards
Tony

The other approach you could adopt is a joomla site membership addon (e.g. Akeeba Subs - the basic version of which is free) and set the user's access level to allow event creation for a limited period of time.

And this will integrate with JEvents Featured events to automate the process? If so, I've found a solution to what I'd like to set up.

Hello,

Technically it should you will need to setup the access rights with the Joomla! ALC for JEvents .

Forgive me if I'm a little confused, I'm trying make my decision based on incorporating what I need to do so. I've read some akeeba documentation. So, I know I can set up acl for JEvents as a whole, I need to know if I can still specifically isolate it for JEvents (Featured).

I beleive this is only available for users will gull site access.

It might be some thing Geraint would look to enhance for a gold member. If you can wait Geraint will be able to provide a definite response.

the featured events plugin is available to silver/gold members of the jevents club and allows you to use the 'priority field' in JEvents to classify events as 'featured' and then you can configure menu items and modules to only show events that are featured.

Hello,

As mentioned above that it may be, has the RSVP Pro payment methods been applied to the Paid Events Submissions with Featured module? Virtuemart still has not provided a version joomla 3x. Thanks,

Not yet I'm afraid - we are juggling priorities. We are working on a major website upgrade and once this is done we will be able to put more effort into enhancing the club addons
