Hi,

I have tried make a norwegian translation for the JEvents alpa3 version.
First I download and edited the en-GB files and translated some of the text to norwegian. Then I renamed the files to nb-NO.com_jevents.ini and added the file paths to the manifest.xml file. But JEvents would not load/display the norwegian translation? Is there anything more to do?

Best Regards
Lars Magne
They are now loaded from the core joomla language locations.

Language files will be a separate install from the core JEvents in future (a weakness in Joomla 1.5 unfortunately).

But how do I install the language file, then?

They don't need to be "installed" just copy the files using FTP or a similar tool.

To use a translation, you just upload it to the /language/nb-NO/ directory.

However, there were some issues with your file:
1) The ini-name was wrong. The name should have been: nb-NO.com_jevents.ini
2) The file was saved with a ISO charset instead of UTF-8, which is what Joomla uses. Therefore ÆØÅ wasn't displayed correctly.

I have fixed these small issues for you, and an updated version is attached. Thank you for translating!

Thanks Oby!

I uploaded the file with FileZilla and it worked perfectly! Thanks for helping me out.
You can see the result on my page: <!-- w -->www.moispeider.net<!-- w -->

Tip: In Notepad++ under the Format tab shoose encoding utf-8 - No BOM

Best regards

Hi
I'm a begginer of both joomla and jevent. Didnt know that anyone had translated jevent 1.5rc into norwegian language, so I started on my own. Anyway, I tried my own norwegian translation, and have also tried this one. In both cases it failed at a certain point. Please take a look at my testsite: <!-- w -->www.test.fuglehund.org<!-- w --> and click at the dato 7th. You will see that i still have some english text which I don't understand how to get rid of. Too many hours have been spent now, so can anybody help me? <!-- s:-( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":-(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:-( -->

Where did you put the translations? Its working on the frontpage but not inside?

You should use http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... 76/details if you're not doing so already.
