I'd like to download some of the different club templates found on the clubs layout and theme page, and it says that requires a Silver Membership. That's about $50, and I can't afford $50 to try out just a few themes on the calendar.

Unfortunately there is no way to purchase the themes separately. Several of the other addons enhance the presentation of an events site such as a standard images and managed locations addons. You can see them in action on the JEvents Demo sites (<!-- w -->www.jeventsdemo.net<!-- w -->
