Hi Guys,

I just bumped into another issue. When I add a new location to my menu item, it doesn't recognise it nor does it display it. Any suggestions?

Best wishes,
Sathesh.
Hi Geraint,

Just wanted to let you know that I stuffed up with this one.. Sorry about that

I had to add the locations into the right category and then add it to the menu item. Then it would display. I tested it a couple of times and all seems good :-) Yea, you can consider this thread closed.

Thank you very much.

Best wishes,
Sathesh.

I have just encountered the same problem. Clicking on the blank area shows the map as normal.
I thought it might be this but then surely it would never work?

I've set location manager options/eventintegration/Load static map from Google that is activated when clicked to No and it seems to work normally.

Google is making setting API keys more and more complex - you now need a separate api key for the static maps in addition to the normal API key for dynamic maps. Did you set both in the managed locations config options?

No only the google maps api key (first field). Why do they have to make it more complex than it really needs to be i wonder?
Oh well now to get another key.

Would that apply to my scenario too, Geraint. I am not having a maps issue, though...

Sorry Sathesh - your post got hijacked

Are you saying the menu item parameters forgets extra locations you add to the parameters after you have added the first one?

That's alrite, no dramas It's good for me to know about the new Google regulations :-)

Yes, that's correct. Whether it forgets or just doesn't make it appear...not sure what's going on :-)

Hi Sathesh,
can you please show us your JEvents Support information? Do you have any other JEvents filter module in the page?

I don't think there's any other filter modules for this.

Are you saying the menu item parameters forgets extra locations you add to the parameters after you have added the first one?

Sorry - I was too vague. Is the issue with the editing of the menu item i.e. when you add a location and then re-edit the menu item its lost the setting OR is it that after you have changed the menu item that display on the front end doesn't take any notice of the setting?

Latter. The front end doesn't take notice of the setting. When I go back into the menu item, the added location is still there. Hope this clarifies :-)

HI ozadmin,
filter looks fine to me. It only shows the events for the Perth location. can you point the problem on the listing:

http://brahmakumaris.org.au/events/events-in-wa

?

Try adding a location into the WA menu. For eg: try adding Canberra and save it.

Then go to http://brahmakumaris.org.au/events/events-in-wa and see if it displays Canberra on the website. If it does, click on Caberra and see if it displays all the events.

Guys, can we expedite the resolution of this issue? It's been going on for a while and it's becoming a little frustrating for the users. Appreciate your assistance in this.

Thank you.

I enabled Joomla Debug mode and looked at the database queries - the event list is being filtered by this SQL
 AND det.location IN (24,14)
which is "Perth - Brahma Kumaris Centre" and "Canberra - Brahma Kumaris Centre".

Are there definitely events at your Canberra centre? Can you point me to one so I can see why it doesn't appear?

Hi Geraint,

There are definitely events @ Canberra centre. But, regardless whether there is an event or not, the location name should appear on the list of locations. At the moment, when I select WA, I only see

Perth| Shenton Park

To see Canberra's events - http://brahmakumaris.org.au/events/events-in-act

If you tried adding Blue Mountains, that should also appear. But it's not.

the query for fetching the event list is correct - is is including and test on the list of selected locations. That is why I wanted you to check if there were matching events. I thought your override that generates the map looks for locations from the list with matching events (not sure since I didn't write it).
