Hi, we're currently using jEvents 3.0 to manage an events list and the Latest module to display upcoming events on our home page.

We also use Google calendar to manage our meetings, and GCalendar to display upcoming meetings on our home page.

You can see it all here: [url:16yqe7lx]http://www.wokingham-tc.gov.uk[/url:16yqe7lx]

We'd now like to drop GCalendar and use jEvents for both functions. Can this be done easily? If so, which level of membership would we need and will the Latest module update automatically when the Google calendar is changed?

Thanks,

Mike
Hello Mike,

This certainly can be done and for FREE!

You just need to create a new calendar in JEvents and select from url. Enter your Google Calendar url in there and click save.

Then you need to copy the anon refresh url in the list of calendars next to the new google calendar. And setup a cron job with this url.

This document should help if you are struggling:

Thanks

Many thanks for the prompt response. I'll try that on our test site.

This is working well on my test site, but although I set allow anonymous refresh to Yes then save it keeps reverting to No. I'm running jEvents 3.1.30 on Joomla 2.5.27. Any ideas why please?

Hi Mike,

I think this is a slight bug.

Can you turn it on from the calendar list view?

Thanks

Thanks again.
