Very nice calendar! But where is the link/icon that will allow members of the public to post an event? I can't see anything on the calendar.

Thanks,

John
Hello John,

I'm afraid that isn't possible out of the box. You would need the JEvents Anonymous user events plugin:

https://www.jevents.net/products-new/ad ... t-creation

This adds in re-captcha and then allows restricting to X categories.

Many thanks

Ah, Thanks Tony, I appreciate that.

How about registered users? There does seem to be options for adjusting front end editing, but even when I'm on the site as an admin, I don't see any kind of "Add Event" option.

Oops, sorry, I figured that out. I guess when I'm logged in, I can see a "create event" link at the bottom of the calendar.

Not a problem :-) You can also create a JEvents Manage Events Menu Item.

Many thanks

My question is the opposite:

How can I DISABLE THE LINK for the public to add events?

Tanks for your answer in advance.

Hello Fernando,

They can't by default. If they can you need to take a good look at your Joomla! & JEvents ACL.

Many thanks

Thanks Tony

I followed your advice and I found that, by default, the calculated settings are set as "Not Allowed".

Despite this it was necessary for me to Select the new settings as "Not Allowed".

I don't know why Joomla works this way but it works.

Hello,

What are you settings in JEvents -> Configuration -> Permissions.

Is it possible you change the settings here?

Many thanks

Hello Tony

Of course it was possible to change the settings. And the problem was solved.

What I am trying to say is that, although the calculated settings appeared to be set as "Not Allowed", I had to repeat the process of selecting the "Not Allowed" option for all the actions.

I think this operation was redundant but it was the only way it worked.

Hello,

no it certainly should not be the case.

Can you please post a screenshot of the permissions which say you are allow but actually it is denied?

Many thanks
Tony
