I am setting up a website for a writers critique group. Each Tuesday we critique the works of a different writer.

As it works now, we each have a directory that's viewable to all members, and a calendar that I do by hand.

What I would like to do is use your calendar to list the names of the writers being critiqued and allow them to upload a file to the website. Then, when a member clicks on the name of the writer being critiqued, it downloads that file to the user. This would bring everything into one step and make it easy for new writers joining our group to get involved. Is this something you can do?

An example is... I'm being critiqued news Tuesday, so when my story is ready to upload, I log on to the joomla site and log in. Then, I upload my file to the webmaster, or use an upload button. Later when members are ready to download the pages I sent in, they click on the calendar and download them.

Doable?
Hello,

This is perfectly doable. You would give your authors event edit rights so they would edit the event and upload a file. It's a two step process then and once your users get used to it, it should be straight forward.

Many thanks

or as a different approach your authors could add their writing as Joomla articles (accessible only to specified user groups) and they could link it to their event using the agenda/minutes addon for JEvents.
