I am interested in using a JEvent calendar for our Athletic Department within our school. We would like to be able to alert parents when a change has been made to a specific sports schedule.

For example: I would like all of the soccer parents to submit their emails to me. I would then be able to automatically send an email out to this group when I have altered the start time of a game. Is this something I can do as a Gold member? Or are there features similar to this idea that may work?
There is a silver member addon for notifying people of new or modified events - see http://www.jevents.net/products-new/add ... ifications

Wonderful. I see I am also able to select which users to send the updates to. Am I also able to select which changes I would like to have announced? I wouldn't want EVERY update announced.

Hello,

Unfortunately not. The plugin notifies the users directly after.

Although it might be possible to add a config option to JEvents to allow you to set to enable or disable notifications for admins. I will speak with the team.

Thanks

Thank you for looking into this for me. I currently have 1 calendar on my site with two categories: Academic and Athletics. I would only want the athletic calendar to send out notifications. Hopefully this is possible.

There is a module that goes alongside the plugin where your users can specify which categories they want notifications for - is that flexible enough for you?
