Hi,
We are looking at signing up to the gold club for our youth group. We would just like to ask a couple of questions:
1) We run an online calendar for our members to add events onto. When they add the event we would like them to select if they need to use the hall and to select if they need to use our van. We would also like our bookings manager to be able to add book out the hall for other groups but not appear on our calendar. We also need to have a function so we cant double book the hall/van.
2) Run a volunteers sign up. For example we run a summer fair and need 5 volunteers to sign up to it. Can we create a calendar to allow sign up by the volunteers?

This is all possible with JEvents and the club addons:
1. You could specify the hall as a managed location/venue and the van as a managed resource - in both cases these can be configured to block double booking.
Blocking the use of the hall would require the use of the hidden detail plugin where events from a specific category would be shown in the calendar as 'busy' but the detail would be hidden from general site users.
2. You could use the managed people addon and allow 'self-allocation' this would allow 5 users to sign up for specific roles in your summer fair event. OR you could use RSVP Pro to treat it like an event registration to get the volunteers to sign up for the event. Note that the signup can be restricted so that only those in specified user groups can see the registration sign up.
