Hello,

I have a few questions before I subscribe:

  • Do the paid extensions continue to work past the end of the subscription, or will I need to resubscribe?
  • If I buy a silver subscription but later want to upgrade to gold, do I pay for a new gold subscription or will it be pro-rated?
  • How customizable are the event notifications? Do I have complete control over the subject and content of the email? Can I set different email lists to be notified foe events in different categories?

Thanks for getting in touch first :-).

1. Yes they will carry on working as they did the day your subscription expired, although you will not be able to download club updates or access the club support forums.

2. It will upgrade your current membership, and take it into account when billing your for the upgrade.

3. The event notifications are a global setting, so you can include tags i.e. content, name etc. They are not customisable on a category basis.

Sorry to be dense, but I am still not clear on the event notifications.

I want to send email when I post a scheduled system outage. I don't want to send email when I post a meeting notice. Is is possible to make that automatic?

I am assuming then, that the event details are used to create the email via tags: 'title', maybe, to set the email subject, 'content' for the body, etc. Is that right?

I'm a bit confused with the mentions of meeting notice and scheduled system outage?

Are you just wanting to notify people when events are created? If so that is possible with the New Event and change notifications plugin, and yes you use the title tag etc. If it's just when a user creates an event that you want to notify the calendar admin, then this is possible with the built in feature or the above mentioned plugin.

Sorry, I will try to be clear.

We will have 2 kinds of events on the calendar: scheduled outages and meetings. Only a few admins will be adding events. No users will.

I would like to send notification email when scheduled outages are posted. I do not want to send email when meetings are.

Is it possible to make that distinction?

Hello Deb,

Yes you can do this.. With the new event and event change notifications. If you add the module the users can add themselves to categories for which they receive events.

It might be an idea for us to add in a categories restriction for the new event and change notifications plugin.

I'll consult the team about adding this in.
