hiya,

As an admin, how can I change the creator of an event, either at setup or as an editor?
As Super User you should be able to change Event Creator. Are you Super User?

I am!

I have been trying to work out if it is a Permissions setting, but can't see anything obvious there.

Do you have a custom layout for the edit page that is hiding the creator field? Can you show us a screenshot of your edit page?

I do not think I have a custom layout!

Screenshot attached - you can see the name is shaded and not accessible.

BTW, I am editing in the backend, not the main site.

Can you please check your Permissions configuration and see if it's using Authorised mode? If not, are you set as JEvents admin? And what about category admin?

I seem to have an issue in permissions. The user group I want to allow is showing a calculated setting of 'NOT ALLOWED (Locked)'

Enable User Authorisation - yes
Publish Own? - No
Joomla ACL Event Creation Permissions Approach - Allow

I have tried several variations of the above, without success, however, at one stage I did have it working, but came up with an error with JEVFILES when trying to edit events - I solved this, but cannot remember the setting that allowed me to change creator. Also, when I got this working, I only could change it to another admin, even though other users are allowed to post!

As you have User Authorisation enabled, Joomla! ACL is not in place for event editing. You need to go to Authorised Users area and add permissions one by one to the users you need to edit events and change Event Creators.

I have already allowed certain users the ability to create events, but still I cannot change creator myself (to a user or admin!)

Just changed 'Enable User Authorisation' to No and I can change creator, but only admins appear.

Only users that can create events will be on that list.

Are you going to stick to Authorised mode or are you using regular Joomla! ACL?

I can guarantee that when not using User Authorisation mode and in latest release it works. Can you please provide your JEvents Support Info?

I think the issue is in permissions.

As mentioned, the user group I want to allow is showing a calculated setting of 'NOT ALLOWED (Locked)'. When I change the 'Select New Setting' from 'inherited' to 'allowed', next to the box I get 'conflict'.

Hello,

That's because it's parent group likely has denied. See:

https://www.jevents.net/docs/jevents/it ... -7-upwards

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony.

Thanks for the pointer and looks like I have resolved the permissions issue, but still have the creator one!

I changed one of the permissions other group permissions that resolved the conflict, but still cannot change the creator to anyone outside of an admin.

Certain users have been allowed to event creation rights, but I still cannot choose them, whether I use User Authorisation or not.
