Hi,
When clicking the Cancel button while in the front end event submission form, the user is being redirected to an unexpected view. The url is:

index.php?option=com_jevents&view=icalevent&layout=edit&Itemid=420

Which is, as far as I can see, the url of the front end submission form itself. Yet the page contains a category view of JEvents with just one of the events shown. It is always the same event but I cannot find ou why it is this one. Would there be a way to redirect to an other page?

Kind regards, Frits
Hello,

Nope not yet. It's still on the todo list.

Many thanks

Hi Frits,

In the JEvents Configuration under Event Editing you can set which view the user should be re-directed too.

Many thanks

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your reply. I see that it was set to category list so it makes sense that a category list view is being shown. But I do not understand why this particular category (I have about 15 categories) and why just this event (as there are several events in the category)?

Hi Frits,

It will just be defaulting to that category. It has not particular preference.

You can change it to the day view, so it defaults to todays date.

Many thanks

Hi Tony,

Now I've set the redicertion to 'Manage Events', which on my site renders a blank content area - probably because we allow anonymous front end submission but no front end editing of exisiting events. I think I prefer this blank page - that clearly indicates that you should navigate away. On this site, we just use category list views with maps. I do not want to introduce a different view (calendar, daily, weekly or any).

Maybe in a future release you could add an option to redirect to a Joomla menu item of choice?

Kind regards, Frits

Hi Frits,

That's a good idea we could allow input for a url. I'll add it to the todo list.

Thanks
