I hope I am mis-reading this - I see this in some documentation
So are you telling me, that if a calendar is setup (let's say everybody has access to it) that a NON administrator can not search by start date? If so, this seems silly to me. As I user maybe I want to see want's coming up in next 5 weeks maybe (so I can make plans)? I hope I am wrong, this seems like a severe limitation.

Startdate - Allows searching by a date range, a set date, before date or 'On or after' date. The 'startDate' filter is a special filter that is designed to work in the admin panel under the event list when you are logged in as an event creator. It won't work elsewhere in JEvents and will always default to 2 weeks in the past when first setup.

maybe the text is not clear enough. That "StartDate" filter is indeed for internal use only, but that documentation is for old versions of JEvents as it's stated in the blue box at the beginning:
Your users will be able to search through all your events with no limitation unless you require it.

As of JEvents 3.1.2, the filter module has a dynamic loading list. All available filters will automatically be loaded for selection.
Your users will be able to search through all your events with no limitation unless you require it.

I guess I am still a bit confused.
Will I be able to create a 'search page' - so to speak - where say the user be able to select all events that occur between 'Date1' and 'Date2' or after a given date?
Or more specifically (and this is assuming that I will purchase a membership) - will I be able to create search page that lets users say - I want to see all events that start AFTER November 21, 2014 (I just used this date as an example) - or maybe the user might want to see all events that start after November 21 but before December 15 (I just used those dates as examples).

Hello Jim,
We integrate with the Joomla! Search so no not like that. But you can use the Jumpto method to jumpto a month, you can scroll through the months, days, weeks, years.

As an admin on the frontend you can sorry, you can use the JEvents Filter module and use the before and after date filters..

Yes, but would I need to let any user of the site (non admin) use before and after date filters. To me should just be another filter.
Like I said, it's alright without it just might be a bit unwieldy. Thanks very much for your help. I will still likely purchase a membership in the near future.
