give user right to change the category
by jegcm » Fri Mar 01, 2013 6:12 pm
I have 3 JEvents categories of events "blue", "red" and "black" and I would like to give users the possiblity to open in the frontend all events with the category "blue" for changing at least:
- the Subject
- the Category, only from "blue" to "red" or "red" to "blue"
I have created a joomla sub user group "Busdriver" (under registered) and assignt this group to different joomla users.
Then I have changed the Category Permissions of the JEvents Category "blue" and "red". Allowed to: Create Events, Edit Events, Publish/Manage Events, Delete All Events, Edit own events.
But if the User open the event the icon to edit the event is not visible.
Have you a solution for this?

Hello,
What you need to do is allow the user to create events in JEvents Configuration -> Permissions
Then deny them the ability to edit etc in the categories they are not allowed to.
Also, Joomla! is now on 2.5.9 I suggest you upgrade.
Regards
Tony

Hi Tony
I updated to 2.5.9 and I have given to the group Busdriver all rights. But nothing changes.
other idea?

I have added the user test now to the "Authorised User" and now it works. I tried to prevent to add each user individually in the "Authorised Users" and to work comfortable with joomla groups.
Thanks anyway Toni and perhaps in a next version it will be implemented!

Hello,
Just disable User Authorisation if you don't want to add users continuously or use the Auto Create Authotised User Plugin.
