How to set up repeat of the event every year (forever)

Hello all
My calendar contains birthdays. It is displayed in the View by Month.

Settings of birthday events:
Repeat every year.

The problem is: when i set the repeat after "the set day",
the event do not repeat at all.
When i set the repeat to Count repeat (i don't know exactly the name of the setting, because i installed Russian translation) to 999 the events DO repeat but only to year 2036 (even though all these events were created in 2012). But i want them to repeat every day till the end of time. Which setting should I use?

And the second question:
The Check for specific conflicting events before saving? is set to No
Check for any conflicting events before saving is set to No, too.

But still I can't add two events into one day. Should they differ by time? I set birthdays to "whole day" setting. May be this does matter?

when JEvents was written many servers were running an old 32 bit version of PHP with a date problem in 2038 (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem) so we limited repeats to 2036

You can change this to a further date by replacing all instances of 2036 with 2099 (for example) in the file components/com_jevents/libraries/iCalRRule.php

What happens when you try to add 2 events on the same day? This should not be a problem with the settings you have indicated.

May be old settings were cached.
I cleaned the cache and...
We didn't meet the error with two events for one day recently.
