Our client is running a Joomla 1.5.23 site with JEvents 2.2.3.
Over the weekend, they exceeded their hosting resources and the site crashed. We have it back up but the front end is not loading modules. With Joomla's error mode on, it looks like its failing to load JEvents and then everything that would normally follow. The following error appears. See the attached file for result of Joomla's error mode.
500 - JDatabaseMySQL::query: 2006 - MySQL server has gone away SQL=SELECT c.id FROM jos_categories AS c LEFT JOIN jos_categories AS p ON p.id=c.parent_id LEFT JOIN jos_categories AS gp ON gp.id=p.parent_id LEFT JOIN jos_categories AS ggp ON ggp.id=gp.parent_id WHERE c.access <= 0 AND c.published = 1 AND c.section = 'com_jevents'
Should we just re-install JEvents?

Hello,
Re-Installing JEvents will not help.
You are running out of time to execute the Query.
I would suggest upgrading Joomla! to a minimum of 1.5.26. Then upgrading JEvents to 2.2.8.
I would also contact your host about increasing your mysql execution time.
Regards
Tony
