Add Events not working in J2.5.8
by PaulDV » Wed Jan 16, 2013 1:37 pm
Hi guys,
I've installed JEv3.0.2 on J2.5.8 and it all looks great, but I'm experiencing quite a number of issues, the biggest of which is that I don't seem to be able to add events via either the front end or the back end.
Via the back end, the only button which works is the Cancel button.
Via the front end, clicking Save or Apply simply redisplays an empty form and the event is not saved.
If I use the pop-up lightbox for editing in the front end, the same happens, only sometimes, instead of redisplaying an empty form in the lightbox, it displays the calendar in the lightbox! In either case, the event is not created.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Paul.

sounds like it could be a javascript conflict with something else installed on your site. do you see any javascript error messages?

Just want to upvote this issue. I'm also on Joomla 2.5.8, using JEvents 3.0.4 and neither the Apply, Save & Close, or Save & New buttons work when adding an event in the backend. See the attached screenshot.
Please let me know what Javascript information I can provide that would be helpful in troubleshooting. Thanks.

Can you please check your Browser console to see any javascript errors?

Just for information: when Geraint logged into my website to check this, it was all working OK for him.
I then went into my website and found that my version of Firefox was slightly out of date, so I installed the upgrade and that fixed my problem.
Worth a try?

These issues related to updated browsers are usually resolved cleaning cache. Did you try that?
