No access to admin on Components menu

Hi
I have installed Jevents 2.2.8 on a joomla 1.7 site.
I had some timeout problems installing the component as it kept timing out (the modules all installed easily) so I had to install the component using the "Install from Directory" method.
This seemed successful as it opened the JEvents config page. I saved it because I was called away from the computer and logged out.
Now I cannot get access to the config page at all, so I cannot add events or anything.
I have checked and the component and the modules are all enabled. (see attached image)
(BTW I had installed JEvents 3 but then realised that it was the wrong version for 1.7 so I uninstalled it)
Please help - I am keen to get the silver sub but need to get it working first.
thanks

Are you logged in as a super user?
You REALLY SHOULD UPGRADE to Joomla 2.5.8 - they have fixed many security bugs since version 1.7. The only safe place to run Joomla 1.7 is on an intranet behind a very secure Firewall.

Thanks - my client hosts their own site in a windows server. I tried to upgrade and we ran into some problems and they asked me to hold off - not good I agree. I will make it a priority as soon as their IT guy is back.

In that case, please try:

It's likely a messed up install from the first attempt.

Possibly did you run it without -1 in the url?
You can just reinstall JEvents via the extension manager to be safe.
Regards
Tony
