Date format
by jarikai » Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:06 am
Hello,
I have Joomla 3.0.2 and JEvents v3.0.0 RC2 installed. My site has Finnish as Default language. Date format should be "d.m.Y".
In JEvents configuration i have Date format = "From language file".
Events date format in front side is correctly formated, but i can't set the right date for event. I need to set event date to january 8, 2013 (8.1.2013) but system keeps changing the date to august 8, 2013 (1.8.2013).
When i go to admin -> Manage Events, and try to change date, the UI in calendar tab shows date as 1.8.2013, if i change the date from calendar control, i get alert "INVALID CORRECTED", but date changes to correct form 8.1.2013 in UI. If i then save the changes and click something else, go back to calendar tab, the date is shown again as 1.8.2013 and in front side the date is also august 8, 2013.
I have tried editing when logged in with Finnish and English languges, but there is no difference.

I'll be releasing a new version on Wednesday/Thursday - can you try that and if the problem persists I'll take a closer look.

As it is friday, is there a new release?
I encurred the same issue with Dutch format.
5/1/2013 (even from the popup) (= 5th of jan)
creates a few errors, and gets converted to
1/5/2013 (= 1st of May)
and creates errors again.
The only way to escape is to safe and/or cancel. The result is always a surprise, as it might have been halfway in saving. In my case I managed to get the event to start on the fifth of January, but it finishes on the 1st of May.

Hello,
We are a little behind with the new version. It will likely be Monday/Tuesday now.
The date issue, is this you typing or selecting from the popup?
Regards
Tony

If this is an upgrade can you clear your web browser cache and try again since we updated one of the javscript files that could be cached by your browser.
