- Code: Select all
Joomla : 2.5.4
component_com_jevents : 2.2.8
module_mod_jevents_cal : 2.2.8
module_mod_jevents_filter : 3.0.2
module_mod_jevents_latest : 3.0.2
module_mod_jevents_legend : 3.0.2
module_mod_jevents_switchview : 3.0.2
plugin_extensions_joomlalinks : 2.0.0beta1 (not enabled)
plugin_editors_jce : 2.2.9.1
plugin_finder_jevents : 3.0.2
plugin_search_eventsearch : 3.0.2
When I create an event and then return to edit it, I get the following message:
"Sorry - This item may have been updated while you have been viewing the webpage. Please try again"
As you can see I installed the update to jevents 3.0.2 thinking that it would solve the problem but that version of jevents did not work at all neither backend or front end loaded in the version of Joomla 2.5.4 (also using a standard Joomla template), so I reverted to v2.2.8.
Any ideas?

Hello,
Please first update Joomla to 2.5.8.
If your getting that when trying to edit can you check you have permissions for that category?
It sounds like a menu item has categories set which are restricted for that user.
Regards
Tony

Tonyp,
Many thanks for the quick response. I checked on the Control Panal and clicked on the Joomla Icon and I got the following message "No updates available
You already have the latest Joomla! version, 2.5.4." Do I need to manually go and find it and install via the extension manager?
Regards

Hello,
You should find this in the Joomla! update manager. Make sure to clear your cache.
Failing that try using Akeeba Admin Tools.

Tony

Hi,
I am having this same problem. JEvents 3.0.9, Joomla 3.0.3. I am logged in as a super user with access to every single access level and user group. The cache has been cleared, the global check-in has been run, I do not know what is getting this stuck.

Hello,
Is this in the front end? Does the backend work?
Thanks

Please try the missing events finder plugin - it should eliminate this problem (which is usually caused by event viewing restrictions in menu items).
If it does resolve the issue please give us the support information from the jevents control panel i.e. version numbers and all the JEvents addons you have installed.
Thanks

Installing that plugin did resolve the issue. Everything seems to be working fine now. Thank You.

This actually did not fully resolve the issue. Some of the events are still getting this error and everything has been cleared (cache, global check-in, etc). The fix got some but not all of the events working correctly.

Hello,
I would then suggest checking the menu items which have restrictions on? and making sure all modules etc are set to use a non restrictive menu item.
Regards
