Hello friends,
I am new to JEvents and I will immensely appreciate your help.
I have installed JEvents v.2.2.8 on a fresh Joomla 2.5 installation.
The installation process reported no errors whatsoever.
Nevertheless, when I click on any link or any date of JEvents, there follows a blank page with the following error message:
"No input file specified"
What did I do wrong?
How can I fix this so that JEvents will work properly?
Following is the Version Information for Support Forum:
Thank you !!!
Greetings from Costa Rica

Hello and welcome,
1. Have you configured and saved the JEvents Settings?
2. are you using SEF? if so does it work when disabled?
3. What do the links look like?
Regards
Tony

Hi Tony,
Thank you greatly for you assistance !!!
1. I am completely new to JEvents. I went rapidly through the Configuration Settings, but I haven't made any major changes there.
2. This is a fresh Joomla 2.5 install, and I haven't yet added any aditional SEF plugin. On the JEvents Control Panel I found a tab named SEF/Performance Options, in which there is an option to "Use new SEF Url system"... but it doesn't make any difference choosing yes or no.
3. This is the URL where I am attempting to use JEvents:
http://capacitate.panama.vg/
When one clicks on any link related to JEvents, the server reports the following error message on a blank screen: "No input file specified"
The JEvents URL's that have problems, all seem to end in a "-" character, such as the following:
http://capacitate.panama.vg/index.php/a ... 12/11/30/-
http://capacitate.panama.vg/index.php/e ... als.ical/-
http://capacitate.panama.vg/index.php/m ... 12/12/30/-
I have found a post with a related issue here:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/groups/227/error/no_input_file_specified
There they indicate that this problem apparently has to do with GoDaddy Server issues, which may be true as I am also using GoDaddy hosting.
I am assuming that eventually the GoDaddy Apache server might have difficulties to interpret these addresses ending in a "-"
I tried to implement the fix suggested in the Magento site, which involved adding the following lines to the .htaccess file:
Nevertheless, this did NOT work... which is not strange, considering that the fix was relevant to something else named "Magento", and not especifically to JEvents...
But I do believe now that this problem may have to do with the capacity of GoDaddy servers to interpret the addresses in the way that JEvents uses.
Again, thank you for your help !!!

You can just strip the /- at the end of the URLs to test e.g. http://capacitate.panama.vg/index.php/m ... 2012/12/30 or http://capacitate.panama.vg/index.php/m ... 012/12/30/ but these don't work either.
This is my guess:
1. You have configured Joomla NOT use use mod_rewrite and htaccess, BUT
2. You have renamed htacess.txt to .htaccess
I tested this hypothesis with this URL
http://capacitate.panama.vg/month.calendar/2012/12/30/
and Lo and behold it works perfectly!!
