Postby RevengeGym » Mon Nov 19, 2012 3:03 am

Hello,

I hope someone can help me with this problem that I am having with Jevents 3.0 on joomla 2.5.7

I have a parse error that read:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home/content/54/8432754/html/rg2012/components/com_jevents/libraries/filters.php on line 139

Can you tell me what code i need to correct?

Thank you for your help

Hello,

Where does this appear? Have you saved the JEvents config?

Can you provide the Version Forum Support in the JEvents Cpanel.

Regards
Tony

Hello,

You are on 5.2? should be on 5.3 these days.

Had you saved the config?

Sven php 5.2.6 is 4.5 years old (see http://uk.php.net/ChangeLog-5.php#5.2.6) - if your host isn't interested in keeping your server more up to date than that I think you should consider a different web host!

It's not so simple as that. We have customers too still running old joomla sites (1.0) and they dont run on php 5.3. So I understand why this hosted doesn't want to upgrade his servers. Php should be backwards compatible.

Hello Sven,

PHP is backwards compatible for x amount of versions.

But it has to stop somewhere to keep the code very efficient and not bloated.

Any good host, should allow multiple versions of PHP.
