Help fixing database after hacking

Our site www.wpwestie.org was hacked the other day. The hosting company restored the database, but I had to re-install joomla. I need to delete the proper lines from the database table, but I'm confused which to delete. Can I just delete the "major" one, then install Jevents again so it sees all our previous events, etc.? Which table line/lines must I delete? I'm new to doing this.

Re-installing Joomla will create a new database or a new database prefix.
You need to copy the jevents data from one database to the other AND make sure you map up the category ids and user ids too.

Is there a separate jevents database? The host company linked the new installation to our old database for the site so there aren't two databases. That is the trouble. I really don't have any idea how to do what you're asking. Can you give me some step by step guidance? I'd appreciate it.
