Can't insert image, javascipt errors

I'm trying to add images to an event, and it doesn't work

I can insert an image from "Available Images" to "Content Images" but when I select an image in Content Images, nothing happens. I think it's details should appear under "Edit the image selected"

I get these javascript errors:

"Error: previewImage is not defined"
"Error: showImageProps is not defined"

Server:
JEvents v1.4.3 RC2 on Joomla 1.5.8
PHP: 5.2.6

My browser:
Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.7

what editor are you using? When I look at the code for the 'add event' page on my system the only reference to previewImage is commented out. Other places I see it on my system are all deprecated.

I'm using TinyMCE 2.0. I just tried using no editor but it didn't make a difference to the image functionality.

It looks like JEvents is trying to call a javascript function that used to be provided as part of the Joomla core but has apparently been removed.

The result, as you pointed out, is a list of image file names but no preview.

You might be able to resurrect the behavior by tracking down the deprecated javascript function and installing it on your system.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may have to try that, but I'm also reluctant to do anything which might break again when I upgrade, would obviously rather figure out what's gone wrong if other users aren't getting the same errors.
