Error Building Admin Menus

I get these two errors when I try to install JEvents 1.4 component on Joomla 1.6. I tried reinstalling many times even using the tar.gz package file.

Fatal error: Call to a member function redirect() on a non-object in /home1/ksesolut/public_html/247freelance/administrator/components/com_jevents/install/install.php on line 21

or

I would get an error message stating "component successfully installed," and right above it says "Error building Admin Menus" with nothing showing up for JEvents under the components menu. (see attachment)

PHP version: 5.2.14
Joomla version: 1.6
MySQL version: 5.1.47
Apache version: 2.2.16
Operating system: Linux
JEvents version: 1.4
memory_limit: 64M
Firefox browser: 3.6.10

I would like to download JEvents 1.5, but all the links I tried on the JEvents site that says to download JEvents 1.5 lead me to be able to only download JEvents 1.4. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm surprised you got that far with JEvents 1.4.

See the links on the front page of this site for the Jevents 1.5 downloads.

Finally I am working on Jevents 2.0 which will work with Joomla 1.6 - Jevents 1.5 will not work in Joomla 1.6 they changed too much of the plumbing.

So I would have to subscribe and pay first before I can try out JEvents 1.5? I'm trying to see if I can test this out first before I purchase.

Jevents 1.5.4 is free to download (see front page links) - this will work on Joomla 1.5 BUT it will not work on Joomla 1.6
