This is opening up a 'can of worms' as they say in english.

number dependent language strings are VERY complicated - in Welsh we would need several considerably more gramatical scanarios not just 0,1 and more than 1. Incorporating this into a simple format string is very difficult I'm afraid.

Thanks for your reply. Now I have another issue. One of the multi-day events went live yesterday and runs until the June 30th. The mod_jevents_latest is reporting that the there are "-1 days until" the event. This is not very desirable, is there any way, other than changing the start date of the event to today, to make this display "0 days until the event" or "today the event" for the event that started 1 day ago?

The Module is set to display mode 2
The Component is set to display mode 2

In the short term can you change the config of the module to only show events in the future.

It looks as though I'll need to make the 'countdown' method a bit more sophisticated!

Thank you for the speedy reply and thank you for taking your time looking in to these issues. I have used the administrator backed module to select the 6 different display modes and tested each mode, but none of the modes display the event as desired. The different modes do resort the events based on the different modes designs, however the multi-day event is still listed as "-1 days until" This may be an issue because this is a multi-day event with the start date being yesterday hence the -1 days till??? I have screen shots of the different modes and can submit if they may help.

Using Mode 3

Multi day events will be an issue.

The only suggestion I have is that I tweak the treatment of the countdown.

Perhaps "countdown" is only displayed where the count is positive and I introduce a new field type "since" that is only displayed where the count is negative.

What do you think?

Hello, sorry for the delay in replying. This sounds like it would work as long as the value of the event is positive it is displayed. Makes sense. How will this handle the 0 days until the event when the day of the event occurs? Will the event be listed, is there also a way to put in a check for this 0 days until condition and have the output text changed to "Today" instead of "N days until" at when the countdown reaches 0 days

What I am thinking is to not display it on the day of the event itself.

Hi Joe

Can you clarify what the issue you are having with the ${countdown} field?

thanks

mufti day events are constantly displaying in the #1 position with a massive -hours display instead of sharing the #1 position with every other event that is going on during the weekend.

so what i would like is the event to treat each day differently instead of counting from the first start time.
