change language in JEvents
by bitstomper » Thu Sep 24, 2009 3:05 pm
Hi,
I tried installing the core language packs for Dutch.
I can select the language in the language manager so I presume the core pack is installed.
When I select the DUtch language pack, indeed the frotn end is in Dutch.. wonderful!
However when I try to install the jEvents tanslation it tells me the core packs are not installed.
All I want is for JEvents to use the Dutch version for front end and leave all back end in English.
Optionally it would be OK if JEvents in back-end is also Dutch(if there is no way to leave that in English).
What am I doing wrong.
PS I can not see a way to change language to Dutch in the jEvents module.

Jevents shares many of the same language strings from the front and backend (e.g. if you are editing an event in the frontend) - you will therefore need the dutch backend language pack for Joomla (even if you don't use it) I'm afraid

That is strange...
I noticed that latest latest JEvents does show Dutch.
Is there no other way?

That is when I get stuck when it tells me the core package is not installed even though that is what I am trying to install.
can I download the dutch admin section somewhere?

Ok I have just unpacked the Dutch full translation zip file and manually installed (FTP) the admin section.
I changed the admin language to Dutch and it works.
However JEvents is still in English while others like 'latest JEvents' is in Dutch.

AHA! unpacked the dutch tanslation for JEvents and ftp-ed the ini (site) file to the language file and..... voila! it works.
Still puzzled as why it keeps telling me core package is not installed.
but at least it works now.
