Import a iCal file
by atri » Mon Feb 25, 2013 12:23 pm
Hi,
I must be really really stupid/confused, so please tell me step by step -- how do I import an ics file into a Jevents calender?
I exported an ics file on site A -- no problem, I made a menu item to do that.
I'm on site B now, I logged into the front end. I see no option whatsoever to "import an ics" -- please help. All I see is "Add an event" and other options.
Where do I click to import an ics?
In all the time I spent trying to get this answer, I probably could have manually copied over my events.

Create a calendar in the backend for type - import URL.
Or enable frontend importing of events.
Or enable frontend importing of events.

I have a Joomla 1.0.14 site running jevents 1.4.2. Is it even possible to actually export all of the events and then import into the current version of jevents on a current Joomla 2.5.9 site?
Thank you,
Darlene

No unfortunately not - You will need to upgrade the site to Joomla 1.5 and then upgrade to JEvents 1.5.6 (see http://www.jevents.net/jevents-15-topme ... nd-running). From there you can export the events ok
You could create a clone of the old site and upgrade this copied site to Joomla 1.5/JEvents 1.5.6 - then you don't need to touch the live site.
