Unable to add events to JEvents demo

Even when I'm signed in, I'm unable to add events to the JEvents demo which I would like to be able to do since there are some options, like using tags and custom fields that I would like to explore. The instructions indicate that there should be a + sign next to the date and/or an options for adding an event at the bottom of the calendar. Neither show up for me.

What Demo user were you logged in as?

Username: Demo3
Password: demo3

Worked for me and allowed me to view the admin panel and the + sign.
