Latest Jevent module access only for admin
by jacques56 » Sun Mar 03, 2013 5:59 pm
Thanks a lot for your Jevents Joomla component.
I have installed the Latest JEvents module in my web site with acces for registred people.
I can see events when I am connected as Admin (special user) put registred users can't.
When a member of my club is connected (registred) he cannot see the event (but it can see the name of the module).
I didn't fing where I can authorise this in backend ?
Thanks for your help
Jacques from France

Hello Jacques,
Did you create a new user group/access level?
All users can see event's by default unless you specify and access level restriction when creating the events.
Regards
Tony

I did't create a new user group/access level
If all users should see everything by default, mine can't see anything
.
I didn't make any restriction, I only asked events can be see by (group of) registred users or public.
I tried to make events module in public access but registred and public don't see anything too.
When I go in jevents/ users authorised I only can add myself ??

Hello,
Are your categories therefore restricted to a certain level?
You have configured it in a way that only Admins can see events by the sounds of it.

Tony

And your menu item?
did you select all the categories in the menu item? or none to auto select all.

Is is not a menu to access to Jevent but a module on each page of my site.
Why I can't select all the user in user authorisation of Jevents ?
I only can see my name and Super USer
[EDIT] about your question, I don't see where you want me check if all categories are selected.
(we can't attach picture in forum ?)

Hello,
If you are using a module I highly suggest you create a menu item even if it is not public for the module to reffer to.
This is correct, if we showed all users in the database then when you have 10,000 users that's a long long list, and big database query. You need to change the JEvents Permissions, in the JEvents Configuration-> Permissions, the usergroups you want to add to the authorized users you need to say they can create events.
In the module configuration, you have the ability to select categories.
Regards

Menu item created but don't change anything
I should like to give permission to groups but I don't see any groups in Jevents permissions menus in backend.
When I want to add user, in user name I have Only 3 lines : (in french for me) select user - my name - super user (admin)
And I don't want to give permission to create events (maybe later) but first, only see events
In the module i already selected all categories of events.
In frontend I see the only event I created but other people don't see it (public and registred)

Hello,
JEvents -> Configuration - > Permissions. Select the usergroup at the bottom shows the permissions.
To confirm are on Joomla! 2.5?
