Additional help for Jevents

Postby Monchy » Tue Dec 18, 2012 2:21 pm

Dear Jeventing Joomlaholics,

im working with Joomla for some years and im happy for this great CMS.

Now I have a project where I need your help.

I built for a good friend 3 Websites. Its for a Church.
1. Page for the Church
2. Page for the Youth Club in the Church
3. Page for the Members, Executives and Managing Directors of the Church
(Login only available with Username & Password)

My Friend is filling the Site with Informations, Events, Downloads and so on.

On each Page i work with Jevents same Version. My friend and Me are volunteers. And we were working hard for this project. Without payment..

Now to my Question.
I want to combine the three Jevent Components. When im adding an event on the Members only Plattform with the Category Church -> Event, I want to display them on the Church Website. The Same with the Youth Club.

How can I realize it? Whats the easiest way? Hope u can help me.

Additional Infos:

Joomla 2.5.8
Jevent 2.2.8
PHP 5.2.6

Best regards

Hello Monchy,

You will want to create 1 export url on the main site. You can place it in a hidden menu item if you like so it is not easily accessible.

Create one called Export JEvents

Then, access if via your website and select what you want to export, click export. Then underneath the button a link should appear right click it and click copy link.

Now go to your other JEvents sites and click JEvents and Calendars, then click new and import via url.

Once setup you will want to create a cron job to automatically import the events.

You might find this useful:

I had tried it before my question - but then get on the target page the following error message:

"Not a valid VCALENDAR data file"

I had used the menu link or what is meant?

Once you have created the link access it in your web browser, select what you want to include in your export and click the button.

Then a link will appear beneath the button right click it and copy URL

This is the valid ICal URL.

ok - I think I know what you mean. When I click on the link do I get single dates - it works well. I want to syncronize a whole calendar.

Is there no documentation of this?
