confused about JEvents

Hi
I have tried to implement JEvents in a site i am working on. I cannot get if JEvents is the right for me.
I need a common event calendar that:
- registered users can enter events in.
- users comes from different sportsclubs in the city.
- users can only edit own events.
Then I need a calendar for repeating events such as soccer training every tuesday and thursday, tennis training every monday and thursday and so on. I dont want the repeating events to be in the common event calendar because it will be difficult to spot the single events among all the repeating events
I want to show a latest events module on my frontpage showing events from common calendar not the repeating events.
I want to have a menuitem the shows a page with the repeating events calendar.
Is this possible with JEvents?
What subscription is to be used?
Is it forever that i have to pay the subscription or can I pay a one time fee?
best regards
Keld

Hello Keld,
For your needs you need the Silver Subscription.
Then you can use the the specific calendar / module and menu items configuration.
Yes it is possible, users do not get their own calendar. But they can add their own events to a calendar you create and go from there.
Yes, once you pay for the Silver Subscription that is a 6month membership. But if you are not worried about updates you do not have to renew.
Regards
Tony

If you use specific categories for the sports training events then you can do what you are looking for without a subscription. You need to create different menu items for different categories of events.
However membership would give you more detailed support to help you set up the site as you want.

I have now a Silver subscription and I have downloaded the "User specific Events" plugin. Can You please guide me what to do to make JEvents do like I described in my first post? I thank You in advance.
best regards
Keld

1. If you want different menu or latest events modules items for different categories of events then create the menu items and modules (to appear on the pages you want) and specify the categories you want to display.
To suppress repeating events in the latest events module there is a config option to not-show repeating events.
It is a good idea with the latest events module to specify an appropriate target menu item in the parameters to tell JEvents on which page the links should be displayed.
2. To create a personal calendar or latest events module that only shows the events the specific user has created there should be a config option in the menu and module parameters to allow this. This assumes you have enabled the user specific events plugin.
Hope this helps
