@richr - Its already possible to import and export events as iCal with JEvents.

CalDAV is a more specialised interface more typically with a desktop/mobile device calendar.

I have it 80-90% working - it went quite over the summer.

Can you ask in the gold member forum and I'll have a go at packaging up what I have so you can experiment with it and give me some feedback.

Thanks

I am already a Gold member and would love this functionality to automatically sync up my badminton fixtures with the member's mobile devices and outlook calendars. If you need any testing/integration members let me know!

Thanks

Hi Ross

CalDav is a TWO way communication mechanism - it would allow you to create your event in your calendar app e.g. Outlook, Lightening, iCal etc. (desktop or mobile) and these will be directly changed on the server. It is ONLY of interest to the calendar MANAGER since it allows you to push and pull data from JEvents.

99.9% of users will want to use an iCal export from JEvents to merge your club fixtures into their calendar app/device.

Its partly done - I have a prototype that works with many of the core functions we need to support but its not ready for production yet.

I've been concentrating on finishing of Joomla 3.0 compatability first - we are very close to finishing RSVP Pro (the last big item to upgrade).
